WE RISE - FISHSLAB ART EXHIBITION

We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the Fishslab exhibition and are delighted to present a diverse selection of work inspired by the sea by both established and emerging local artists.

In 2024, SOS Whitstable received an incredible donation raised in Norma's memory. Norma was instrumental in starting the Fishslab gallery, being their first volunteer, so it seems a fitting place to raise awareness through art and be inspired by our beautiful sea that we're working hard to protect.

We’re honoured to include The Harbour Buoy by Norma Fryer — please come and see it in person.

Also on display is research by Whitstable resident Dr Julia King, developed with the Design Museum. Her work explores design interventions along the North Kent coast that could not only decrease sewage pollution, but also create new community infrastructure, improving access and providing solutions to this complex issue.

Proceeds from sales will support SOS Whitstable and their ongoing work.
